Cannabis Industry: New Facility Opens in Spring

A dream three years in the making is fast becoming reality as construction of our new facility finally approaches completion. The frame is complete, the drywall is up, walls have been painted purple, and our home is taking shape before our eyes. Collaboration began in early 2015 with Kevin Spencer, owner of Empire Construction and Development. Together, we designed a space that would both streamline the operations and accommodate future phases of growth in the cannabis industry. Tony Gonzalez, Project Manager for the Lunchbox Alchemy facility build-out, spent considerable time piecing together a floor plan that would meet the specific needs of the cannabis industry, with efficiency and safety as top priorities.

“We were surprised when we brought in the experts to review the feasibility of our plans, that we really did have a great concept to move forward with, making the most out of 10,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space,” says Gonzalez, “We are really proud that we have worked in collaboration with the city and state agencies on what will be half state-of-the-art labs and half scalable cooking and packaging under one roof.”

Every corner of the facility will be utilized – with multiple extraction rooms, a commercial kitchen, large packaging zone and corporate offices – all outfitted with custom machinery fabricated specifically for Lunchbox Alchemy. And for the first time in our company’s history, all of our extract and edible production will be under the same roof as our packaging line, allowing for immediate gramming, packaging and distribution of fresh products. Our new space is not only intended to modernize and expand our production capabilities, but more importantly, to unite our whole team so we can better serve our patients and the consumers who rely on our products.

Blueprints were modified over time to fit the space provided but the original functionality and purpose of the space remained intact throughout the build.
