This is a common question for us at Lunchbox Alchemy, and with good reason, because there’s no precise answer. Appropriate amounts vary immensely from one person to the next. We should first address how much you can buy. Legally, anyone in Oregon over the age of 21 can buy cannabis products. 

If you are a medical patient with documentation from the Oregon Medical Marijauna Program (OMMP), you are legally permitted to purchase edibles containing up to 100mg of THC. Recreational customers who are over the age of 21, but not in possession of an OMMP card are permitted to purchase edibles containing up to 50mg of THC. To make it easy, our entire edible line is available in both Recreational and Medical varieties. 

Next, let’s talk a bit about recommended doses. Body mass, fitness level, and, above all, one’s individual body chemistry are all contributing factors when evaluating tolerance. For a beginner, 5-10 mg is a good starting point, which is why all of our packaging is designed to help you divvy out the portions in these specific increments. Wait a good amount of time, up to an hour an half after consumption for the “high” to set in. If after a couple hours, you don’t feel like the initial dose was adequate, slightly increase your serving size until the desired effects are achieved.

1. Start Slow

5. Don’t drive or operate heavy machinery

6. Keep Lunchbox Alchemy products away from kids

Again, duh. But an alarming number of children have had adverse reactions to eating powerful edibles in recent years, so keep all products in safe places, out of the reach of kids and others who don’t know what they’re eating.

7. Stay cool

If you do happen to take more of a Lunchbox product than you feel comfortable with, don’t freak out. You’ll be fine. Drink some water, put on some soothing music (reggae or jazz work well) and lie down somewhere comfortable. Before you know it you’ll be waking up from a deep sleep.
